SKVADRONEN

Location: Skvadronsbacken, Sundbyberg

Year: 2022

Client: Förvaltaren, Savab

The site currently houses a parking garage and utility buildings, including a waste suction terminal, which have reached the end of their technical lifespan. This presents an opportunity for redevelopment with a focus on sustainable and cohesive urban design.

The proposed plan introduces a new residential building that will redefine the street space and harmonize with the nearby taller structures. To the west, a courtyard will adjoin a green area featuring pedestrian and bike paths, enhancing accessibility and community connectivity. Three lower townhouses will complement the scale of nearby buildings and the adjacent oak grove, creating a seamless transition within the urban fabric.

Key additions include a modern waste suction terminal and a mobility house, both integrated into the development. The project emphasizes social spaces, green areas, and the use of sustainable materials, with all buildings planned to be constructed in wood. This redevelopment is being designed in collaboration with our clients and the Sundbyberg municipality, ensuring a thoughtful and community-focused planning process.
